AINVSA TP MANI's Letter to Commissioner

AINVSA/CEC/2013/0016 Dated 8th February 2013
To
The Commissioner
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
Noida, UP
Sir,
Needless to say that the staff of JNVs are devoting their life time for the progress of the Samiti and the welfare of the poor rural children. We are destined to spend a lifetime in the campus and work day in and day out.At this instances it is stark contrast that their cry for welfare measures fall on Beethoven’s Ears.
GOI pension is a genuine demand which has all merits to be granted even without a court case of making demand. However we have been denied it for more than two and a half decades. There are other issues related to staff welfare and professional growth. We have been making peaceful efforts to get our demand conceded by NVS. But we have been dragged to strike.
Under the present condition JNVs from 40% of Vidyalayas are participating in the protest. But you are not interest and talk with Association representative and solve our genuine demands, all AINVSA members and other association also joins with the indefinite strike from 11th February. The number is definitely swell in the coming days. From many JNVs the students have been sent home harming their studies. This situation has been precipitated by the uncompromising attitude of NVS. The parents and the public are inconvenienced. The staff are dissatisfied It is with great pain the staff are carrying on the strike.
At this moment I would like to request your kind self to find ways to end up the strike by conceding the demands of the striking staff.I request you not to drag them further difficulties. As the JNV staff are the real backbone of the organization which stands for the educational betterment of children rural poor our job is elevated and unique.
Any step to take action against the striking staff will be met with staff resistance. It will not only affect the students, the poor rural parent and the innocent family members of the staff members who devote their lifetime for the progress of the organization but it will also show NVS in bad image before the world. The lost reputation will always remain a stain on the body of the organization which no staff wants.
Hence I propose your kind self to invite the representatives of AINVSA and other service Associations to the talking table and settle the issue for the benefit of the staff. At this instance I would also like to remind you that in2010 we had been given false promises and our hopes were belied. The faith has taken a sharp U-turn. It has become really a hard business for NVS to build the confidence of the JNV staff. Hence I hope that you efforts in bringing the matter to a very decent settlement will only be welcomed by the striking staff.
.
Yours faithfully,
(T P Mani)
National President
